Old to New

In a significant development for accessibility and inclusivity, work has commenced on the transformation of the former toilet block at Page Park. The project, funded by a £52k Changing Places Grant along with £20k additional funding from the Friends of Page Park, is set to introduce cutting-edge facilities catering to diverse needs.

The new Changing Places toilet facility will feature specialized equipment such as hoists, curtains, and increased space for carers, ensuring that individuals with disabilities have access to the amenities they require. Additionally, the revamped toilet block will incorporate another accessible toilet and a dedicated space equipped with baby changing facilities.

Anticipated to be completed by the end of May, with plans to open the new facility in June 2024, the initiative marks a significant step towards fostering a more inclusive environment within Page Park. The original toilet block at Page Park ceased operation in 2017 following the inauguration of the new café/community room and toilets as part of the National Lottery Heritage Fund restoration project.

The introduction of the state-of-the-art Changing Places toilet underscores the commitment of Page Park to prioritize accessibility and cater to the diverse needs of its visitors. With these enhancements, Page Park aims to provide an inclusive recreational space where everyone can enjoy the park\’s amenities without barriers.

Stay tuned for further updates as Page Park continues its journey towards creating a more accessible and welcoming environment for all.
