Engaging Tewkesbury\’s Youth in Shaping the Future

Tewkesbury Borough Council is embarking on an innovative journey to involve the youth of Tewkesbury in shaping the town\’s future through its Garden Communities programme.

Empowering Young Voices

With a focus on sustainability and community engagement, the initiative aims to empower young people to have a voice in decisions that will impact their lives and the environment they inhabit.

Collaborative Sessions

Partnering with youth engagement specialists Matt + Fiona, the council is organizing a three-day Design Studio at Tewkesbury Academy. Key Stage 3 students will gather to discuss vital issues surrounding environmentally sustainable development and growth, articulating their vision for the Garden Communities.

Family Fun Day

The culmination of this effort will be a vibrant family fun day at Tewkesbury Town Hall on Saturday, March 16th, from 10 am to 3 pm. This event offers an inclusive space for both young and old to engage in creative activities exploring Tewkesbury\’s future and delve deeper into the Garden Communities programme.

Youth Ambassadors

In addition to this immersive experience, Young Gloucestershire, a county-wide charity, will recruit a panel of young ambassadors, aged up to 23, to champion the Garden Communities programme.
