Cirencester is getting a parking makeover! Starting April 4th, the town centre will see some major changes to make parking easier and traffic smoother. Gloucestershire County Council and Cirencester Town Council teamed up for this, based on feedback from locals last year.

What’s in store? More parking spots around town, plus some new yellow lines and restricted areas to keep things moving. The goal? Making it easier for you to pop into shops without circling for ages to find a spot.

The plan includes adding pay and display spots in Castle Street, Dyer Street, and Cricklade Street. You’ll have a two-hour max stay, but there’s a sweet 20-minute grace period for quick errands, like picking up prescriptions – and no extra charges for that.

They’ve also made sure there’s enough space for blue badge holders, with more disabled bays, each with a three-hour limit.

Starting April 4th, you’ll also see changes to loading bays and new spots for bikes and taxis. And good news – waiting and loading rules will be relaxed from 8 am to 6 pm.
